Payment & Bills

About Your Bill

After your emergency department encounter you will receive more than one bill in the mail.  At a minimum, you will receive a bill from Providence Health Systems and Olympia Emergency Services (OES).

Your Providence bill covers the facility fees for your visit.  This bill is for the physical facility, which includes nursing staff, support staff, supplies, and costs of medication and utilization of any imaging.  Your OES bill is for professional services rendered by our Emergency Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.  Our emergency practitioners are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, referral, hospitalization, and/or discharge of all patients receiving emergency department care at Providence St. Peter.

Depending on what services your emergency department encounter required, you may also receive bills from Radia and an additional Providence bill for laboratory services.  The Radia bill covers professional services by a board-certified radiologist that provides primary and/or over-reads of all diagnostic imaging (x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds) performed in the emergency department.  The laboratory services bill is for any blood work that was completed during your encounter.

As an emergency medicine staffing company, we acknowledge the complexity of the healthcare billing system and strive to provide guidance and support during your post-visit period.  We emphasize the importance of patient advocacy, encouraging you to reach out to our team for assistance with insurance inquiries, billing discrepancies, or any concerns you may have.

At OES, we aim to enhance transparency, improve communication, and alleviate the burden of navigating post-emergency visit bills.  Our commitment to exceptional patient care extends beyond the emergency department, encompassing the entire patient experience.
